Training and Technical Assistance

Latinos Unidos for Vaccines provides training and technical assistance focused on ensuring equitable immunization delivery, access, education and communication for Latino, Spanish-Speaking and Immigrant communities.

Vaccine Data and Messaging

We compile vaccine research, training, data and messaging to ensure partners and communities have the most up-to-date information and resources to increase vaccine rates among Latino, Spanish-Speaking and Immigrant communities; We focus on the importance of “transcreation” to ensure partners and providers are empowered to implement culturally and linguistically appropriate messaging in their communities.

Community Engagement Strategies

We research, compile and develop effective community-based engagement strategies and empower partners to turn data into actionable interventions. This includes research, identification and promotion of Promotoras de Salud programming, Cultural Validation efforts, and many others.

Program Education

We work to ensure partners are aware of critical local, state and federal programs that can aid in the assistance of eliminating vaccine and health disparities for Latino, Spanish-Speaking and Immigrant communities.

  • Vaccines For Children – The Vaccines for Children (VFC) program is a federally funded program that provides vaccines at no cost to children who might not otherwise be vaccinated because of inability to pay. The CDC buys vaccine at a discounted rate for distribution to registered VFC providers. Vaccines for Adults – Program to provide vaccines for adults. Regulations is pending on each state.
  • Farmworkers Program– A nationally directed program created by Congress in response to the chronic seasonal unemployment and underemployment experienced by migrant and seasonal farmworkers. Some Farmworkers Health programs cover immunization for the employee and their families.
  • 317 funding – Section 317 of the Public Health Service Act authorizes the federal purchase of vaccines to vaccinate children, adolescents, and adults. Over its 50-year history, Section 317-purchased vaccine has been directed towards meeting the needs of priority populations; most recently this has included underinsured children not eligible for VFC, and uninsured adults.
